Our story
We started Got Dumplings on the University of Virginia’s campus in 2011. The dining hall was being renovated and Aramark wanted to provide new food options to the students. They came up with the idea of a dumpling truck and were wondering if I could create a unique menu.
It was my mother’s fantastic cooking that inspired the menu for the dumpling truck. She taught me to be critical of subtle flavor differences, which allowed me to perfect the food we proudly serve today. Though my mother passed away from lung cancer, she is with me every day when I prepare her recipes.
The biggest compliments I have received are from students who tell me that Got Dumplings’ food reminds them of home.
